Ah – but there is the rub. “Scientifically” no one can prove God exists, or that Evolution happened, or that Evolution is true, or that God does not exist. That’s exactly my point! However, logically, something cannot come from nothing. But, if there is a God, who created all of space-time, then logically, he exists somewhere “Outside” of it. God is NOT PART OF OUR UNIVERSE. That means, he lives in a “Somewhere else”, someplace not physical, at least not according to our definitions of physical reality.

Logically, therefore, he exists in what we could refer to as a “Higher dimension”. Since it’s a place “Beyond” our physical universe (that’s the very meaning of “Metaphysical”) then we can assume he has (from our point of view), infinite knowledge (not bound by space or time), as well as infinite power, as well as he is eternal and everywhere at once, again, all from our point of view. These characteristics must be true for a being that is “Beyond” our Universe, from a higher dimension so to speak.

This is what the Bible has told us all along, we just didn’t have the knowledge or understanding to see it. It’s not so difficult to grasp. I always explain it to folks using a mathematics text written around the turn of the 20th C. by Edwin Abbott. The book is called: “Flatland”. The author attempts to explain higher dimensions in terms of a 2-dimensional world, since that’s about as much as we can grasp. We can’t conceive of a higher dimension other than to postulate its existence. But, and this must also be true, a higher dimensional being should be able to interact with his “Creation” by means of inserting himself into it. Think of an author writing himself into a story (a one-dimensional example), or an artist painting himself into a picture. The creator of our Universe must easily be able to put himself here into our world.

I’m not saying this is how it works, only that it’s a logical explanation for what the Bible tells us, based on our understanding of space, and time, and dimensions. It does answer all the difficult questions that I have given before. And, our belief, our faith, has good answers as well to the key questions of life: Who am I? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going when I die? Is there some purpose to all of this?

Evolution and modern Cosmology have no answers to any of those question, or I should say, no satisfactory answers. Who am I? An accident. Why am I here? No purpose, no meaning. Where did I come from? Slime. Where am I going when I die? Worm food. Is there some purpose to all this? Nope, all random billiard balls bouncing around, meaninglessly.

The Christian world view gives tremendous answers to these questions: Who am I? A precious child of God. Why am I here? To procreate and tell others about God and his Son Jesus. Where did I come from? I am fearfully and wonderfully made, literally knitted together in my mother’s womb. Where am I going when I die? To be with Jesus forever in Heaven! Is there some purpose to all of this? Yes, God created everything and people in order to have beings he could relate with, interact with. We are simple meat people until we are born again, and then we become partly spiritual beings, partly belonging to that “Other world”, or higher dimension, or whatever you want to call it. He births in us new life (eternal life) and gives us greater understanding so we can tell others.

Science won’t save anyone. Science will let you down, and ultimately, cannot explain why we are here. People have “Faith” in science, but it is entirely misplaced. Science, and technology are only making us better at killing one another in greater and greater numbers. The 20th C. was bloodier than all of history prior to that combined. And we’re still getting worse. That’s why when folks ask me what the answer is, I answer “Jesus. Just Jesus”.

“Incidentally, all of your points there are the same. How does something come from nothing? We don’t know. The point is, it’s a pretty weak reason to assume that that proves the existence of a divine entity. Not knowing the answer to fundamental questions is why religious thought and superstition have always existed. And if the fact that the scientific method cannot answer some things still is a basis for belief in God, then God is nothing more than a perimeter of ignorance.”
