If your new Peloton bike is stuck on “updating”, you can try restarting the device by unplugging it from the wall, waiting five seconds, then plugging it back in again and turning it on as usual. You can also check if your home network connection is functioning properly.

BIKE & BIKE+ TROUBLESHOOTING

If your Bike/Bike+ appears stuck on an update, please wait 10-15 minutes. Most issues will resolve themselves in a 10- to 15-minute timeframe.

Confirm that the outlet has power by using another device in the outlet. Ensure the power cable is securely plugged into the back of the Peloton Guide and power outlet. If the issue persists, power cycle the Peloton Guide by disconnecting the power cable directly from the outlet.

In addition, downloading a software update requires a stable high-speed internet connection. A slow internet connection can cause the update to take a long time to complete or to fail completely.

Tap the WiFi icon on the top right of your HD Touchscreen and select "Settings" from the dropdown menu. From the new menu, select "Apps." Tap the Peloton App from the list of applications. "Force Stop" the application, then select "Storage", then "Clear Cache."

Note: By default, after 15 minutes of inactivity, the Peloton Guide will automatically enter a sleep mode. This default setting can be changed through Settings > Screen > Auto-Sleep > Select a time. To wake up the Guide, you can press any two buttons on your Peloton Guide remote.

Factory resetting your Peloton Product will not erase your personal data, but it will return your touchscreen to factory settings upon restarting and require you to reactivate your product using the activation key. Peloton is always looking for ways to improve our products and features.

What are the main issues with Peloton? ›

First, the supply chain issues with monthslong delays for bikes that irked new customers. Then, a disastrous recall affected both of its treadmills: the Tread Plus, because it injured several users and killed a small child, and the regular Tread, which hadn't even launched yet because of a wobbly screen.

If your Guide appears stuck on an update, please wait 30 minutes. Most issues will resolve themselves in a 30-minute timeframe. If the Guide is still stuck on an update after 30 minutes, please check the following: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is not experiencing any issues.

Always unplug the Bike immediately after use and before cleaning or performing maintenance. Fully engage the brake when the Bike and Bike+ is not in use.

The easiest way to verify that your Peloton is updated to the latest and greatest software is to verify in the Settings section of the touchscreen. Here's how to send a diagnostic report or screen capture to Peloton.

Check the power connections.

Ensure the power cord is correctly inserted into the wall socket and fully inserted into the adapter. Check the connection at the base of the Peloton Bike (image 1.3). If the green light on the power adapter does not power on (image 1.2), try connecting to a new outlet.
