Rachel Ann Crow Means Butler

Rachel Ann Crow Means Butler, age 74, of the Brassfield Community of Madison County, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.
Rachel, the daughter of the late Floyd and Elora Hall Crow, was born in Estill County on September 11, 1947. She worked in housekeeping at Marcum Wallace Hospital and enjoyed cross stitching, reading and playing her guitar. Her family was her life and she dearly loved each of them. She was also very fond of her little dog, Cocoa. She was a member of Our Old Country Church in Bearwallow.
She united in marriage to Johnny Means who preceded her in death on September 2, 2013. In 2017, she married Donald Ray Butler who survives.
Other survivors include two sons: David Means (Shelia) and Roger Means (Connie); two daughters: Melinda Means and Kathy Martin (Marco), all of Richmond; four step-daughters, one special daughter: Ruth Butler; 11 grandchildren: Melissa Williams (Brian), Felicia Owens, JoAnne Embree (Kyle), John Means, Dallas Means (Beth), Zach Martin (Megan), Brittany Martin, Heather Spires (Brandon), Karianne Adams (Kyle), Josh Willis and Johnathan Means; and 17 great grandchildren.
Rachel was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Melton Crow.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, Richmond, with Pastor Robert Begley officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.Visitation will be from 5–8 p.m., Tuesday, March 8th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Means, Dallas Means, Josh Willis, Johnathan Means, Zach Martin and Kyle Embree.
Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Williams and Brandon Spires.

Delmus "Bunt" Gross

Delmus "Bunt" Gross, age 82, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
He was born in Beattyville, Kentucky, May 28, 1939 to the late Charlie and Emma Gross. He was the owner of Gross Auto Sales in Irvine and had been in the car business for 60 years. He was a successful businessman and truly enjoyed the many friends and acquaintances he made over the years selling cars. He had lived in Estill County all of his life. He attended the Ravenna Nazarene Church.
Mr. Gross is survived by his wife of 62 years, Emily Gross; two sons: Stephen Gross of Irvine and Phillip Gross (Jessica) of Lexington; three grandsons: Jacob Gross, Jack Gross, both of Lexington; and Gavin Thacker of Irvine; and one brother, Bob Gross of Dayton, Ohio.
He is also survived by a faithful friend and employee, Gina Arvin; also, a special cousin, Delmont Gross of Irvine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Kevin Gross; one sister, Agnes Cretcher, and two brothers, Delbert and Ed Gross.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 7, 2022, 12:00 Noon, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William Owens and Bro. John Anderson officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The family requests that all visitors wear a mask.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Gross, Jack Gross, Gavin Thacker, Willard Horn, Paul Jernigan and Glendle Flynn.
Honorary pallbearers are Michael Woolery, Delmont Gross, Mike Tuttle, Dwayne Brinegar, Gene Arvin, Ted Brittain, Donnie Tipton, Glen Snowden and all friends and former employees.

Wanda Lee Cox Shively

Wanda Lee Cox Shively, age 70, of Irvine, Kentucky, died Monday, February 28, 2022, at Marcum and Wallace Hospital in Irvine, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Richmond, Kentucky, on September 1, 1951, the daughter of the late Charlie and Faye Stevens Cox. Wanda was a retired certified nursing assistant and walked her own spiritual path.
In her last hour she got to be with all three of her children and her beloved cat, Gabby.
Survivors include sons, Frankie Lee Yeager (Rhonda), Joseph Patrick Yeager, and Lance Owen Yeager (Kathleen); siblings, Jessie Lynn Grindstaff (Darrell), Rick Steve Cox (Tricia), and Charles Cox, Jr.; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Shively.
In accordance with Wanda’s wishes, she was cremated, and no public service is scheduled at this time.

Ronald Gene Stone, age 76, of East Fork Road in Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, following a long illness.
He was born March 3, 1945 in Winchester and was the son of the late Charlie and Mona Richardson Stone. He was a farmer and a former employee of Bundy Tubing. He had lived in Estill County most of his life and is survived by his daughter, Hope Newman Bobbitt (Josh) of Versailles; one sister, Debbie Hatton (John) of Winchester; one brother, Kenneth “Jackie” Stone (Virginia) of Irvine; two grandchildren: Connor and Victoria Bobbitt; and his companion, Betty Johnson of Winchester.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gayle Stone.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.

Mary Evelyn Hochadel

Mary Evelyn Hochadel, age 93 of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022.
Born February 12, 1929 in Estill County, Kentucky, she moved to Indiana and raised her family. In 1970, Chuck and Mary moved to Florida. Within a year all seven children moved to Florida also.
After a long life lived, she is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Martha Johnson Mansfield; her husband, Charles B Hochadel; brothers, William "Bill" Mansfield, James Arthur Mansfield, and Elbert Mansfield; and her sisters, Myrtle Rose, Minnie Withers and Ona Smeltzer.
Mary will be remembered for her involvement in a host of organizations. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), National and Florida Association of Realtors, St. Petersburg Suncoast Association of Realtors, Women's Council of Realtors, and she was listed in the Who's Who in American Business Women.
In addition to her community involvement, Mary was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church for over 50 years and served as a lay minister.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Duluth Witt; her children, Stephen and Judy Tolliver, Myra and Harry Sload, Keith and Donna Tolliver, Charles B. and Debby Hochadel, Peggy and Jack Burke, Jack and Jan Hochadel, and Beth and John White; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. ML King Jr. St. N., St. Petersburg, Florida. Funeral service will be Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, St. Petersburg, reception to follow.

Bro. William Luther Elliott Jr., age 88, of Greens Crossing Road in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022, at Baptist Health in Lexington following a short illness.
He was born January 19, 1934 in Harlan County and was the son of the late William Luther and Nancy Ann Morris Elliott. He was a retired machine operator for Scanpac and was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church. He had lived in Madison County for most his life.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife, Ruth Spurlock Elliott; a son, Denny Ray Elliott (Carolyn) of Tennessee; a brother, Allen Elliott of Louisiana; three grandchildren: Rebecca Lynn Holman (Chris), Heather Renee Tumey (Jamie) and Jonathan David Elliott (Chelsea); and eleven great grandchildren: Toshia, Lexie, Tyler, Maddie (Pancake), Gabriel, Isaiah, Jaden, Cami, Xander, Shelby and William.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Emma Jenn Howard, Mary Nell Walker, Inez Brindley, Juanita Brown and Ella Belinda Jones; and three brothers, Harry, Darriel and Benny Elliott.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 4, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at the Victory World Outreach Church Center in Richmond with Rev. Chris Holman Officiating. Burial was at the Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers were Gabe Holman, Tyler Abrams, Isaiah Holman, “Pancake” Abrams, Jamie Tumey and Jonathan Elliott.
Honorary pallbearers were Shelby Holman and Xander Redmond.

Leighton Franklin Worrell

Leighton Franklin Worrell, age 70, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022, after a short illness.
Leighton was born September 7, 1951, in Estill County and grew up in the Rice Station community. He attended Eastern Kentucky University. After college he began his career in teaching in the Estill County High School He also was the Girls Head Basketball Coach at Estill County and held a very successful record. Most recently he was a substitute teacher in the Fayette County School System. He was a member of the Rice Station Christian Church.
Leighton was preceded in death by: his father, Rev. Thaddeus Worrell; his mother, Minnie Lou Richardson Worrell; his brother, Thad Worrell; his sisters, Hope Tipton, and Tincie Rogers; and his brother-in-law Jonah Carpenter.
He is survived by his sister, Cherri Carpenter; his brothers-in-law, Hargus Rogers and Jerry Tipton; his sister-in-law, Carol Worrell; as well as a host of other extended family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Leighton was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Thaddeus Worrell; his mother, Minnie Lou Richardson Worrell; his brother, Thad Worrell; his sisters, Hope Tipton and Tincie Rogers; and his brother-in-law, Jonah Carpenter.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Richmond Cemetery with Bro. Joe Hall officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Chaney, Ray Harold Hardy, Tobo Bryant, Earl Kirby, Steve Grave, Johnathan Rogers, Hargus Rogers, Mark Worrell, and the Elders & Deacons at Rice Station Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Lexington Humane Society.

Nancy Margaret Day Means

Nancy Margaret Day Means, age 89, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022 at Irvine Nursing and Rehabilitation.
The daughter of the late William and Nora Lawson Day, she was born in Laurel County on October 10, 1932. She retired from Pattie A. Clay Hospital as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She was an avid UK basketball fan and quilter. She also loved to work puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Orbin Means, who passed away on January 10, 1982.
Survivors include two daughters: Anola Davis of Berea and Rickie Means (Wendell); her sister: Pearl Hammock; three brothers, Robert Day, John Day and George Robbins; four grandchildren: Wendy Lynch (Sidney), Adam Means (Tisha), Cassandra Hager and Candi Wright; eleven great grandchildren, nine great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Means was also preceded in death her daughter, Avondia Parker; four brothers: Oscar Day, Johnnie Day, Earl Day and Bradley Day; and two sisters: Beulah Taylor and Verna Cruse.
Funeral Services were conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home in Richmond with Rev. Johnathan Tussey officiating. Burial followed in the Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation was from 5–7 p.m., Wednesday, February 16th at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Sidney Lynch, Sidney Lynch, Jr., Kristie Lynch, Adam Kristopher Means, Larry Francis and Austin Wade.

Benjamin H. "Ben" Strickland

Benjamin H. "Ben" Strickland, age 56, of Waco, Kentucky, departed this life suddenly on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Baptist Health of Richmond.
He was born on February 27, 1965, in Tampa, Florida to the late Barney Strickland and Esta Simpson Collins. He was of the Methodist faith and loved his Lord and Savior.
In addition to his father, Ben was preceded in death by his two stepfathers, Gregory Turvey and Tom Collins; along with his grandparents, Bill and Mary Simpson.
Mr. Strickland is survived by his loving wife, Frances Strickland of Waco, Kentucky; his mother, Esta Collins of Bushnell, Florida; five children, Shawn Strickland (Niki) of Georgetown, Dillon Strickland of Richmond, Amanda Waters (Tyler) of Lexington, Josh Dalton of Waco, and Jesse Dalton of Irvine; one sister, Esta M. Smith (Norman) of Kissimmee, Florida; and three grandchildren, Jessiah, Brooklyn, and Jesse Dalton III; along with numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends to miss him and mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Benjamin H. "Ben" Strickland will be conducted on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Lewis Home for Funerals with Brother Scott Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Strickland Family Cemetery in Waco. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wanda Mae Knox

Wanda Mae Knox, age 85, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at her residence in Stanton, Kentucky.
Born October 19, 1936, in Powell County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Florence Hatton and a former cook at Powell County Head Start. She was a faithful member of Knowlton Church of God for 28 years who enjoyed sewing, making quilts and spending time with her special friends, Alma Caldwell, Betty Sparks, Ada Donithan, Clota Rogers and Millie Rogers.
Wanda is survived by two sons, Dallas Knox (Carla) of Ravenna and Gary Knox (Maggie) of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Reva Wasson (Kenneth) of Ravenna and Kim Banks (Melvin Jr.) of Stanton; seven grandchildren, Renee Hurst (Allen Farmer), Amanda Ross (Billy), Rebecca Wasson, Dustin Fraley, William Arvin (Micki), Clarissa Arvin and Matthew Arvin; along with great grandchildren, Kendall Arvin, Sophia Arvin, Trey Arvin, Kenneth Arvin, Kobe White, Ava White, Henlee Arvin, Haleigh Noble, Harlan Noble, Jax Hurst and Raiden Powell.
Funeral services officiated by Bro. Terry Barnes and Bro. Kenneth Wasson will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Hearne Funeral Home in Stanton, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, February 28th at the funeral home. Irene Neal, age 81, of Meridian Way in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital in Irvine, following a short illness.
She was born May 1, 1940 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Lennie and Bertha McIntosh Adams. She was a retired seamstress for Carhartt, Inc. and attended the Gum Springs Church of God. She had lived in Estill County most her life.
Mrs. Neal was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Neal.
She is survived by one sister, Jeanette Vincent of Madison County; three brothers: James Adams, Lennie Adams Jr., both of Estill County; and Reece Adams of Ohio; and several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mattie Lou Sparks, Anna Mae Murray and Estine Finney; and two brothers, Harold Adams and William Adams.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 1, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Frymyer. Burial was in the Neal Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Tommy Vincent, William Hardy, Justin Wiseman, Boyd Henry, Dustin Sparks, Jeremy Wiseman and Shawn Baber.

Melba A. Wade McQueen

Melba A. Wade McQueen, age 77, of Jodi Lane in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
She was born November 1, 1944, in Kosciusko, Mississippi and was the daughter of the late Lester Curtis and Minnie Irvin Wade. She was a retired Accountant Clerk for the Estill County Health Department and had lived in Estill County since 1978.
Mrs. McQueen was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy W. McQueen Sr., and is survived by three daughters: Dawn E. McQueen Mortimer (Simon) of Laurel County; Kelley A. Harlow, and Susan A. McQueen, both of Estill County; one son, Patrick E. McQueen of Boyle County; one stepson, Tracy W. McQueen Jr. of North Carolina; eight grandchildren: William D. Harlow, Benjamin J. McQueen, Shelby D. Neal (Derrick), Jonathan L. McQueen, Connor D. Harlow, Stephen D. McQueen, Caidan P.T. McQueen and James D. Harlow; one great grandchild, the light of her later years, Lara Marie Neal; and her beloved dog, Saint Cyrilla.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one half-sister, Patricia Mangrum; one brother, M.C. Wade; two half-brothers, Charles Tisbury and W.M. Tisbury; and one foster sister-in-law, Katherine Canter.
A memorial service is scheduled for a later date.

Dennie Young

Dennie Lee Young, age 75, of Irvine, Kentucky, passed away at his residence Thursday, February 24, 2022.
He was born in Richmond, Kentucky, February 8, 1947 to Walter and Lena Williams Young.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Linda Young of Irvine; a son, Terry Wayne Young of Irvine; five grandchildren; a brother, Earl Young (Beverly) of Irvine; a sister-in-law, Wilma Young; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lena Williams Young; and two brothers, Ernest and Raymond Young.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the Grayson Funeral Home Chapel in Irvine with Bro. Wayne Knopp officiating. Bettina Sue Horn Wiseman

Bettina Sue Horn Wiseman, age 81, of Irvine, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Irvine.
Born in Ravenna, Kentucky, on November 30, 1939, to the late Chester A. Alan Arthur Horn and Lilia Mae Gross Horn, Sue was a proud graduate of Irvine High School and focused on learning all the skills of business. She enjoyed singing in the choir. In the nineteen sixties and seventies, Sue worked for the Kroger Company and WIRV Radio Station. Then she found her dream job by opening a florist with her son Darryl. She was very successful for 35 years. Sue really enjoyed the friends she made and making people happy with her beautiful flower arrangements. She always had a passion for the Christmas Holidays, celebrating Jesus, cooking large dinners for her relatives and decorating all throughout the house.
In addition to her parents, Bettina was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Horn and Duwayne Horn; three sisters, Colonsa Horn, Eudale Horn Kuntz Martin, and Reva Jean Horn Puckett; a special niece, Kimberly Rae Kuntz; and a special nephew Mickey Lynn West.
Sue is survived by her husband of 62 years, Melvin Wiseman; two sons, Darryl Alan Wiseman (Richard), Atlanta, Georgia; Mark David Wiseman (Sherry), Irvine; three grandchildren, Ashley Rene Wiseman, Richmond; Alexander David Wiseman and Ethan Chaise Wiseman, both of Berea; her very special great grandson, Jansyn Alexander Wiseman, Richmond; one sister, her very best friend, Barbara Ann Horn West, Irvine; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the White Oak Church of God in Irvine, Kentucky at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Glendon Woosley officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until the service time of 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Lonnie Allen Gray, age 70, of Furnace Junction Road in Ravenna, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at his home following a short illness.
He was born December 26, 1951 in Estill County and was the son of the late Marion and Murel McIntosh Gray. He was retired from the oil fields and was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Gray had lived in Estill County most of his life and is survived by one daughter, Stacy Gray of Ohio; two sisters: Darlene Hughes and Sandy Tipton (Donnie), both of Estill County; two brothers: Linville Gray (Vickie) of Ohio; and David Gray (Tammy) of Estill County; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and his companion, Ella Hall.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Tina Gray and Jennifer Gray; two sisters, Patricia McKinney and Elaine Levi; and three brothers, Marion “Moondog” Gray, Donnie Simp Gray and Robbie Gray.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 25, 2022, 1:00 p.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Wasson officiating. Burial will be at the Marcum Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. to service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie McKinney, Linville Gray, David Gray, Matthew Gray, Donnie Tipton and Jesse Levi.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Rogers, Goble Rogers, Eldon Rogers, David Congleton, Jackie Young, Weston Rose and Cody Abney.

Patricia Elaine Thomas, age 78, of Blackburn Road in Irvine, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
She was born June 24, 1943 in Estill County and was the daughter of the late Floyd and Dorothy Puckett Ballard. She was a retired CMS employee and was a member of the Calvary Tabernacle Church in Corbin. She was a former member of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Thomas had lived in Estill County all her life and is survived by her husband, Tracy Harvey Thomas; six daughters: Vonda Floyd (Tim), Maleia Thomas, Tamara Thomas, all of Estill County; Cierra Lawnizak (Justin) of Madison County; Emily Elizabeth Thomas of Tennessee; and Amelia Charlien Thomas of Estill County; five sons: Michael Thomas of Estill County; Craig Thomas (Melanie) of Laurel County; Elmer Thomas (Marla) of Madison County; Phillip Thomas (Tonya) of Estill County; and Joseph Thomas of Laurel County; one brother, Alvin Ballard of Illinois; 21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; a special nephew, Johnny Seals; and two special nieces, Jessica Seals and Rachael Hull.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 28, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Craig Thomas and Bro. Elmer Thomas officiating. Burial was at the West Irvine Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Zachary Thomas, Travis Thomas, Tim Floyd, Daniel Floyd, Jacob Thomas and Justin Lawnizak.

Nancy Mae Baker Redmon, age 77, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.
Nancy was born on November 28, 1944, to the late John Baker and Anna Lee Story Baker. She was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In her spare time, she loved playing board games, making candy and baking. She was proud to be a minister’s wife and loved her church family dearly.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Thomas Redmon, Jr. of Nicholasville; a daughter, Ann Smith (Robert) of Frankfort; siblings, Ricky Baker (Judy), Mason Baker (Shirley), James Baker, Brenda Rose (Dennis), and Evelyn Riddell; a sister-in-law, Sheila Bickers; grandchildren, Nicole Smith, Amanda Giles, Emily Redmon, and James Redmon, Jr.; great grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Russell Smith, Jessica Giles, Robbie Smith, Isabella Redmon, Abigale Gaines, Aidrian Gill, Damien Collins, Zoey Collins, and Delilah Redmon; and a niece and nephew, Kim Riddell and David Hager.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jerry Thomas Redmon, Sr; sons, James Woodrow Redmon and Johnny Rhodus; and a granddaughter, Stacey Smith.
Visitation was held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home in Frankfort from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Services were held on Thursday, February 24th at 9:00 a.m. with Rev. Danny Wilson officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Versailles.
Serving as pallbearers were family and friends.

Dennis Ray Gilbert Sr., age 73, husband of the late Denise Kramer Gilbert, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022 in Lexington, Kentucky.
He was born September 6, 1948 in Irvine, Kentucky, to the late Richard and Minnie Gray Gilbert.
Dennis is survived by two children, Melissa Lambert (Billy) and Dennis Gilbert Jr. (Jaime); grandchildren, Nathan Combs, Paige Gilbert, Hunter Gilbert and Haley Gilbert; siblings, Della M. Young, Mildred Tolson (Bobby), Vendell Gilbert (Sue), Freddie Gilbert (Darlene) and Marcy Grace (Jimmy).
Other than his wife and parents, Dennis is preceded in death by a brother, Elbert Gilbert.
A 3:30 p.m. service took place Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Main Street, Lexington. Visitation was from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Burial was private.

Donald Gene Phillips, age 86, of Clark Drive in Richmond, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022, at the Baptist Health in Richmond following a long illness.
He was born May 21, 1935 in Mercer County and was the son of the late Bessie May Lewis. He was retired from the VA Hospital and had served in the United States Army.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Janice Johnson Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his stepfather, Hubert Lewis; his sister, Brenda Schneider (Dr. Barry); and his brother, Greg Lewis.
Memorial services are not scheduled at this time.

Donna Gayle Speer Nation of Simpsonville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the age of 74.
She was a homemaker that cared for her family very lovingly through the years. She will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Theresa Payton (Joe); grandchildren, Jessie and Alexandria; and sisters, Phyllis McMahan, Linda Manley, Judith Craig (D.L.), Norma Cheatham, Nancy Cheatham (Robert), and Virginia “Alice” Rawlins.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 56 years, Jessie Ray Nation.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service by Pastor Josh Greene at 1:00 p.m., all at Louisville Memorial Gardens East Funeral Home, 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville. Burial immediately followed at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.

Christal Lynn Johnson, age 38, died unexpectedly, Monday, February 7, 2022, in Louisville, Kentucky.
She was born in Irvine, Kentucky, June 11, 1983 to the late Floyd M. Johnson and the late Irene Reece Johnson. She lived most of her life in Lee County, Kentucky.
Christal is survived by her five children: Ronnie, Isaiah, Lainah, Ava, and Wesley; and three brothers: Avery Johnson, Scott Reece, and Shane Johnson, all of Lee County, Kentucky.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Kendall Johnson.
Christal was a free-spirit, living life as a butterfly, lighting from place to place. Fly high, sweet girl.
