Simply oven-baked, this dip gathers all the best flavors of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses with dense and delicious cream cheese that provides the base for LOADS of diced-up jalapenos.

Please note that this recipe includes pictures of us making this recipe twice – with a different topping on each one. Note the recipe comments to see variations.

  • Cream cheese – Cream cheese works best when softened, so pull it out of the fridge and unwrap it for at least 15 minutes.
  • Bacon – Make sure slices bacon are pre-cooked (here is a twisted bacon recipe, airfryer bacon recipe, and how to make bacon in the oven tomake it easy for you)
  • Types of cheese – We like to use shredded cheddar cheese & shredded mozzarella cheese; however, most shredded cheese types will work, and you can customize this based on your favorite cheese flavors. Try mixing up with Monterey Jack or Sharp Cheddar Cheese.
  • Jalapeno peppers- Fresh diced jalapeno peppers (seeds removed) are really what brings the dip together. Use as few as 6 or as many as 8, depending on how pepper-heavy you want the dip.
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Topping – The delicious dip topping consists of butter, crushed buttery round crackers or Panko breadcrumbs, and freshly grated or shredded Parmesan cheese.

Is Jalapeno Dip Keto Friendly?

But what about the crushed round crackers as the topping? Yep, it has a little bit, but it’s not a massive part of the dip, so portioned out correctly, you can still enjoy this dip with a tad bit of the topping.

Alternatively, skip the panko bread crumbs and crushed crackers to sprinkle freshly shaved Parmesan Cheese. (This is not the same as grated, so make sure it’s fresh)

This Super Cheesy JJlapeno popper dip is loaded with fresh diced jalapenos and a crispy, crunchy Parmesan topping. The best part is that this dip can easily be converted to Keto friendly and falls into a low carb diet plan, so you can truly enjoy this dip without the guilt! If you like heat and a little bit of a spicy, hearty and savory dip, this is definitely the best oven baked dip for you!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese softened
  • 4 slices bacon cooked and cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6-8 jalapeno peppers seeded and diced
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 cup crushed buttery round crackers like Ritz
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (shredded is fine as well)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  • Grease a small casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set the casserole dish aside.

  • Add softened cream cheese, cooked and cut up bacon, shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese, and mix ingredients together well.

  • In the same bowl, stir in diced jalapeno peppers and heavy whipping cream and mix all ingredients till blended.

  • Spoon dip into prepared (sprayed with nonstick spray) casserole baking dish.

  • In a separate small bowl, add melted butter, crushed crackers and shredded Parmesan cheese to create a crumbly topping. Topping types can vary and its fine to use cheese crackers or shredded Parmesan cheese if that is all you have on hand as well. It's a very forgiving variation.

  • Mix topping ingredients together well and sprinkle Parmesan crumble on top of dip in casserole dish.

  • Bake jalapeno popper dip for 20-25 minutes or until hot, creamy, and bubbly.

  • Serve this appetizer dip with crackers, bread, or vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • In this dip recipe, I used buttery round crackers, but you can use Cheez-its (as seen in the video) as well.
  • If making this as more of a Keto Friendly or low carb change, leave off bread crumbs and instead opt for freshly shaved Parmesan cheese.
  • This dip also has a good kick, and you can expect some heat. That being said, if you want heat, add some Tabasco or Sriracha!

Dipper Ideas

  • Crackers, Chips, or torn bread.
  • Raw vegetables like cut peppers, celery, and cucumber slices.
